Since I have been working on boats, and renovating very old recuse sloop from a large container ship, my goal has been to make it fully sustainable, clean and silent. That has been a challenge, to say the least. Vetus has always made great nautical products, like engines.

And the last couple years, Vetus has introduced a couple great electrical engines too. Which is exciting news! Look at this beauty? Who wouldn’t want that to replace their old, noise diesel engine? Most people we know don’t mind the smell and noise of diesel. But to to say they love the smell and noise, no…

Vetus e-line

They currently offer about 6 versions of their e-line, ranging from 4kW to 11kW. Which they claim is to about 11hp to 22hp. Compared to 18 different diesel engines, ranging from 10hp to 210hp. So the choice and range is substantially wider.

It seems Vetus is like a diesel engine, they start slow, but once they are going, you can’t stop them. Because everything they build is really good quality, if we must believe the different stories.

Vetus e-line

Perhaps one day we will add one of these to replace our Chinese diesel engine that is about 15 years old now. For now, we keep testing our simple setup first!
