The Silent Boat – electric boating

There are several reasons to move away from a noisy and polluting combustion engine. Whether it’s sustainability, noise or regulations, there are many good reasons to say goodbye to the combustion engine. We think this is not only a very logical development but also a very good one. Despite the fact that we used to enjoy the soft drone of the engine and get nostalgic from the smell of diesel, sailing with the silence of an electric motor is almost ecstatic. What a wonderful peace, so that you can really enjoy nature and the water.

At home, on the road and also on the water, developments do not stand still. Green Boating Blog dives in for you.

The Silent Boat

It is a logical development that you see more and more companies active with electric motors and sustainability. The company De Stille Boot from Heeg is, as they say themselves:

“MARKET LEADER IN TOTAL SOLUTIONS FOR ELECTRIC AND HYBRID BOATING”.

So everything in the field of sustainable possibilities

Offerings & services

Most of the time it is about replacing combustion engines, but more and more boats are also being delivered from the yard with sustainable propulsion. The Silent Boat has a wide range of solutions for different types of boats and uses.

This is a very nice example of how a traditional flat-bottomed boat under the cockpit has been given an electric drive. That will save a lot of space compared to a large and loud combustion engine.

We are also looking at how we can make the sloop sail electrically. In itself, that is not very difficult. However, it is still very expensive and charging in the port is also a challenge. That is another great project for the coming sailing season.
